Born and raised in the northwest of England, Barb moved to London in the mid 1970’s, where she became part of the early alternative cabaret circuit. Recording and performing live throughout the 1980’s, in the mid 1990’s she began the song styling for which she has become highly acclaimed in the UK as one of Britain’s most important interpreters of contemporary songs and in particular the repertoire of Bob Dylan for which also she received rave reviews in New York. In the UK and New York she plays to packed houses and was recently heralded in a feature about her work in the New York Times.
