Bistro and MAC Award winning jazz-pop vocalist Karen Oberlin has headlined at major New York venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center, Town Hall, Iridium Jazz Club, Feinstein's, Merkin Hall, The Metropolitan Room, and The Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, where she has entertained sold-out audiences. As a recording artist, she has three critically-acclaimed CD's on the Miranda Music label: "My Standards," the award-winning "Secret Love..." and her latest album, “Karen Oberlin: Live at the Algonquin,” a recording of her three week engagement at New York’s historic Oak Room. She performed in the inaugural Cabaret Conventions in Philadelphia and the Hamptons, and has performed in the New York shows at Town Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Hall. She also enjoyed being part of a professional a cappella group called "Where’s The Band?" for many years.
An accomplished and versatile actress, Ms. Oberlin performed in the world premiere of the newly discovered musical by Duke Ellington and Herb Martin, "Renaissance Man," as well as in an all-star CD version, "Secret Ellington" (True Life), which featured Joe Lovano, Grover Washington, Jr., and Freddy Cole, among others. She appeared in the Off-Broadway smash-hit show "Our Sinatra,” played Maureen in the first staged incarnation of the now-legendary Broadway show, “Rent,” and had a recurring role on “All My Children.” With a deep background in classical music, jazz, cabaret, theater and musical theater, Ms. Oberlin teaches master classes in acting, singing and interpreting song.
